Rolling Sculptures: Originals
First off, these are not toys or models. The people I've met at various bike events and bike shops around the country have all described them in the same way: as sculptures. These are not one-piece castings; the kickstands pivot, the front ends turn, and the wheels spin. I added rolling to their description to come up with "Rolling Sculptures".These 1:8 scale designs are based on the custom motorcycle culture, representing everything from radical Choppers to sleek Hot Rods. Each one is created from numerous handmade parts that are then welded together to form the various components of a motorcycle. The front end, wheels, and drive train are actually attached using small allen bolts. All the parts are made of metal, so each sculpture weighs between 6 to 9 pounds.
The tires and seat are painted black, while the rest is a clear coated, natural metal finish that lets you imagine your own custom paint. (Some rusting may occur over time). Every original is numbered "#1 of #1", and comes with a certificate of authenticity: I never make two exactly the same. Be sure and check back occasionally as new originals are offered throughout the year, though not on any set schedule.
